Philly Startup Leaders has a unique opportunity to send three companies - led by founders from underrepresented backgrounds - to SXSW this year. This is all part of Amplify Philly, bringing the best of Philly business, culture, and tech into the international spotlight. Philly Startup Leaders’ plays an active role in producing Amplify Philly, with Witty Gritty and REC Philly, and our primary focus this year is getting more startups to SXSW. In addition to attending the SXSW conference, you will participate in Amplify Philly initiatives (details TBD).
This is not new for Philly. The City of Philadelphia covered registration costs for four founders in 2018, and we aim to make this a practice every year for Philly’s startup community.
Applications are CLOSED and all winners have been notified (as of 1/24/2020).

Qualifications
We aren’t interested in creating more barriers for you. Founders must be from Philadelphia’s tech/startup ecosystem, from socially or economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and have a software product or use tech to run their business. That’s it. Backgrounds include but are not limited to:
Black or Brown
LGBTQ+
Women
Disabled
Low-income
Students or Recent Grads
Veterans

Other Details
SXSW is from March 13-22. We will only stay during Amplify Philly, which is March 14-17.

We are accepting submissions through January 22nd. Philly Startup Leaders will choose the companies, and selected founders will be notified within 3-5 business days.
