We are still feeling the energy and excitement from this year’s two-day Founder Factory conference! Thank you to everyone who helped make both days a huge success! We’ll share more reflections later, but for now we want to give thanks and share photos from the event!

DAY 1: FOUNDER FACTORY - A SEAT AT THE TABLE

For three years, Philly Startup Leaders and Mogulette have co-hosted Diversity Dinner, an annual dinner discussing the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Philly startup community. This year, we moved the date to coincide with Founder Factory (and changed the name), in order to create a bigger and better conference experience.

The dinner was hosted at the Center for Architecture and Design with delicious food and beautiful service provided by 12th Street Catering. Speakers included the City of Philadelphia’s Commerce Director, Harold T. Epps, Guru’s co-founder and CEO, Rick Nucci, Drexel University’s ExCITe Center Director, Youngmoo Kim, and Associate Vice President of Civic and Global Engagement at Widener University, Uva Coles.

We talked about data, how startups need to be both inclusive and forward-thinking, great culture builders in the city, and so much more. Check out the links below for recaps from Technical.ly and Philly Business Journal.

DAY 2: FOUNDER FACTORY AT FRINGEARTS & LA PEG

It felt good to return back to FringeArts and La Peg for day 2 of the conference. In the theater, we had inspiring talks from local and national founders about their journey to building sustainable businesses. From hearing about real founder struggles no one likes to discuss, to learning about the benefits of building a startup culture with both east and west coast talent, the event (and speakers) were electrifying, raw, and inspiring.

In La Peg restaurant, we hosted mentor sessions throughout the day for attendees to meet with some of the best minds in Philly’s startup community. There were over 40 mentors and 300 sessions. Woo!

We ended the day with happy hour, networking, and good vibes. Curious about the presenters and mentors ? You can view them here.
